Mamelodi Sundowns have named their confirmed starting eleven for the CAF Super Cup against USM Alger, with Ronwen Williams captaining the side and Teboho Mokoena included in midfield.
Head coach Miguel Cardoso has selected a team featuring Williams, Modiba, Ndamane, Khoza, Morena, Matuludi, Mokoena, Allende, Santos, Matthews and León for the 15:00 SAST fixture at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday, 8 November 2026.
Sundowns name their eleven for continental showdown
The selection combines established internationals with attacking options as Sundowns pursue another continental trophy. Williams starts in goal and wears the captain’s armband, while Mokoena returns to the side. Allende and Santos are also named, with Matthews and León included among the attacking personnel.
Among the notable selections is the inclusion of Matuludi, Morena, Modiba, Ndamane and Khoza. Rayners, who scored in the recent Carling Knockout quarter-final against Golden Arrows, begins on the bench.

Selection highlights
Mokoena’s inclusion strengthens the midfield options, but the main story is Cardoso’s full selection. The coach has named a starting eleven featuring a mix of experience and attacking quality for a high-stakes match against the Algerian opposition.

Williams captains the Brazilians
Ronwen Williams has been selected in goal and will captain Sundowns. His leadership and experience could be especially valuable against a USM Alger side accustomed to high-pressure continental matches. Cardoso has also named Bryan León and Tashreeq Matthews in the starting side, while Iqraam Rayners is among the substitutes.
Confirmed Mamelodi Sundowns starting XI

Substitutes: Goss, Mvala, Aubaas, Ndlovu, Zwane, Basadien, Van Wyk, Mailula and Rayners.
A major continental occasion at Loftus
Sundowns and USM Alger meet with the CAF Super Cup at stake. The hosts will hope that familiarity with Loftus Versfeld and the backing of their supporters can help them impose their style of play, while the visitors will be determined to frustrate the South African champions.

The sound of singing and drums from the stands is expected to add to the occasion. For Sundowns, however, the decisive factor will be how effectively the selected players perform on the pitch. Mokoena’s return offers a welcome lift, but the contest will ultimately be settled by the quality of the two teams over the course of the match.
Dahane Beida appointed match referee
Mauritanian official Dahane Beida has been named as the referee for the Super Cup fixture.
